Vohlsen and Dallas
Name: Vohlsen Derrail
Age: 23
Partner: Dallas, a four year old German Shepherd.
Souls Collected: 13
Human Appearance: Vohlsen has been described as 'easily visible'. He's exceptionally tall, standing at 6'4". He has extremely short black hair, and grayish blue eyes. His face normally carries the same expression: the less discerning of people see it as 'light headed', while those who actually pay attention to who is really is would note it as 'pensive'. He has a mostly 'large bodied' appearance, heavily laden with muscle, though he is not what would be called 'freakish'. His skin is a deep tan, as he is frequently found outside, and spent the majority of his life running around outside. He is normally garbed in a black leather jacket with a white undershirt: the jacket is normally zipped. He is also normally garbed in denim jeans, tucked into black leather boots that go up to halfway past his shin.
Personality: Vohlsen is an extremely subdued person: a silent and strong type, as it were. He doesn't talk too much: he doesn't like to overstay his proverbial welcome. He won't avoid a chat with others, don't misunderstand me: he likes chatting as much as the next guy does. However, he is careful to say the most in the fewest words possible. He gives people the respect they reserve as people: that is, until they prove that they no longer deserve it. The only time he expresses excessive amounts of personality is when Dallas is around. He treats Dallas better than most human beings, and this amount of respect for animals expands to basically every nonhuman living thing. He almost seems to behave submissive to Dallas, usually acting on Dallas' commands. If Dallas is ever in danger, in any way shape or form, Vohlsen can be relied on to totally and utterly ruin the person who put the dog in danger: that is, unless Dallas barks at him to stop. In fact, Dallas is almost the only living being Vohlsen will fully change to work with, for the reason that "he's the only one who understands me".
History: Vohlsen is the son of a Meister and Weapon pair, wandering America to eliminate humans on Shinigami's list. As they could only stop the length of time it took for his mother to give birth to him, they left him in the care of relatives in Texas. He was raised there, as the third son of a family of twelve. His relatives owned a ranch in their home state, and it was through hard work there that he obtained the tan that has persisted through most of his life. Along with his tan came his muscle, which he constantly attempted to increase so that he would be able to work for his family.
Vohlsen's relatives chose his sixteenth birthday to make him aware that he wasn't their child: that it was actually the aunt and uncle he had never met who were his parents. Originally, he thought it was a terribly tasteless joke: later it was simple rage that his parents didn't care enough about him to raise him themselves. When he was nineteen, his adoptive parents got a pet German Shepherd for Vohlsen. The German Shepherd had just been weaned, and Vohlsen decided to name his new friend Dallas.
When he was twenty one, a trip to the nearest town ended in an extremely strange event for Vohlsen. A man, who he had never seen before, came up to him and said, "Can you change?" Vohlsen was confused, and before he could reply with a "Wha?", the man clasped his wrist, and Vohlsen's next sight was a kaleidoscope of directions simultaneously: he could see a full 360 degrees around where he was, but where was he? "You've grown, Vohlsen... and you've inherited the ability of your mother... what can you do?" Suddenly, Vohlsen was somehow able to project chains from himself... "How?" Vohlsen asked, as he reformed before the man. "You're a Demon Weapon, son... It's me, your father." A woman appeared out of nowhere, saying, "I'm your mother, Vohlsen... we're sorry for abandoning you."
They continued to explain what Vohlsen was, what he could do, and what their reasons were. They even attempted to get him to go to this strange place they called "Shibusen". His response... was not what they expected. "No. Ya can't jus' show up after twenty years, profess the love ya never showed, and expect me to follow ya around like a lost puppy. Ah have famileh here. Dallas. Ah won't just give that up ta run off with ya." Of course, his parents didn't just take that lying down. They explained the Death Scythe process to Vohlsen, fully aware that he loved Dallas with all his heart. They told him that if he became a Death Scythe, he'd be able to protect whatever he wanted to. They left him then, leaving him a paper with a list of Shinigami's targets, as well as directions to Death City.
Less than a week later, Vohlsen was on his way, after having given the rest of his family a heartfelt farewell, and he took Dallas along with him: with his chains, he'd be able to protect Dallas from anything.
Weapon Appearance: Vohlsen, when in Weapon form, takes the appearance of a rusty chain collar, wrapped around Dallas' neck (or the neck/wrist of whoever takes over for him). He can also perform largely autonomously, using his ability from his back and hands/wrists.
Weapon Abilities: When in either Weapon form or human form, Vohlsen is able to create chains that he (or his partner) can control telekinetically, in order to strike opponents. On the end of each chain is usually one of two things: a spiked ball with a particularly large spike on the end facing away from the chain, and a blade akin to that of a scythe.
Fractal Chain: Vohlsen can force himself into full synchronization with Dallas in order to increase his own power: He gains the ability to sprout chains from his chains. This can lead to a rapid increase in chains, which can make many of his attacks almost impossible to avoid. His main drawback of Fractal Chain is that it harms Dallas to be dragged into full synchro, so he tries to avoid using the technique unless absolutely necessary.
Soul Appearance: Dallas' Soul is nothing to look at, but Vohlsen's... Vohlsen appears to be completely enshrouded in thick, rusted chains. The chains' rust is flaking in some parts, though it does not fail to completely enshroud Vohlsen's body.
